The story

It all started in 2003, when the director of this project, Carlos Faría and his brother Guillermo began to show a special interest in a 4-motor drone manufactured by a Canadian company called Draganfly, to such an extent that Carlos looked for a way to get hold of it. One, he bought it and it was the first to arrive in Latin America, Venezuela to be exact.

We managed to fly it, but with many failures, and the company's support was not of quality. After several years, by 2015, Carlos began to seriously study to build his first drone from scratch, there was already enough information on the Internet and the necessary components to achieve it, it was then when the design and construction project of his first drone was born, the Lego Drone. V1.

What is a drone?

In this section we share basic information to know what a DRONE is, how it works, what it is for and best of all, how to build one from scratch, of course we will also offer for sale some Drones ready to fly!

A drone is It is an unmanned flying vehicle, regardless of its size or use. Unlike traditionally guided remote control (RC) flying vehicles, Drones have very special features such as GPS self-stabilization, automatic return to base, the inclusion of real-time HD video transmission systems, long-range military applications, among many others.

A Drone can have many shapes and sizes, depending on its application you can find very fast or powerful drones, also with extraordinary capacity to lift weight or very extensive flight autonomy. To build a Drone or purchase it from a manufacturer, it is necessary to define very well the reason for its use, for example, a Drone can be used for simple recreation or for professional aerial video filming services, messaging, surveillance or speed or racing competitions. maneuvers, all these applications will require a completely different type of Drone and it will be very difficult if not impossible to acquire or build one that meets all these needs.

We can see Drones in the form of an airplane, helicopter, flying saucer, rocket and many other forms, however the most versatile and efficient type of Drone is the MULTI-ROTOR type, this Blog will be dedicated mostly to this type.

What does it take?

Before knowing all the parts that you need to build your own drone, we suggest to deeply study the fundamentals of a propelled flying apparatus. In this site you will find training courses, support and all the parts you need.

The Multi rotor Drone has the main characteristic of being a very stable ship because the thrust of its rotors can be balanced in order to achieve a desired position, this control is achieved thanks to a microprocessor commonly called in this medium as "Controller" or controller. Below we explain the parts that make up a basic Drone:

Frame:
It is the structure that shapes and supports all the other components of the drone. Its weight is key to the efficiency and speed of flight, its size will depend on the use you want to give it, I will explain this later.

Rotors:
They generate lifting propulsion and directional thrust, likewise their power, size, type and revolutions are chosen according to the desired use.

Blades:
They are the propellers that propel the Drone, these are of different sizes and colors, the most important thing is the direction of their cut and transversal bend, since one pair must turn to the right and the other pair to the left, with this It achieves counter-rotation by canceling vibration and the rotation force on its axis.

Speed controllers:
These components are those that regulate the amount of electrical current that must pass to each motor according to the pilot's command. By distributing the current to the motors, stable lifting, turning, moving forward or backward can be achieved, without the need to use tilt or tilt servos. ailerons.

Flight controller:
It is the central computer that sends signals to the speed controllers according to the signals from the pilot's remote control.

Battery:
Storage of electrical energy necessary to power the motors and control devices, also cameras or any other extra device. They are usually made of lithium polymer (LyPo) for their amazing durability and amperage capacity.

RF Receiver:
It is the module that receives the signal from the pilot's remote control, this receiver in turn transmits the signals to the flight controller via cables. The receiver has the number of "channels" depending on the number of motors and other devices that you want to control. Normally the receiver is available together with its transmitter or remote control.

Command or remote control:
It is human interface equipment, it normally has levers and buttons in the style of traditional controls, however currently Drones can be controlled with mobile devices, Tablets and computers.

You can build your own Drone to start enjoying a wonderful hobby or business.
